Our Worship Team is a group of very dedicated individuals who diligently arrange and prepare for our weekly worship services. The details of each Sunday's worship service are presented, discussed and decided on each week. Throughout the week, Our Worship Team Leader, Trey Sharpton, guides the group through the process of building each service including song selection, Scripture readings, announcements and even bulletin preparation. Given our current location, each and every Sunday morning, Trey and the group set up, test and prepare all musical equipment and then take down the entire setup following the service. This all-volunteer crew does a fantastic job and blesses us each week with their dedication and talent.
Trey has been instrumental in multiple ways by helping to start and play for a number of different new worship services in several churches. In 2003, he helped form the contemporary service in his home church of Ackworth UMC. After moving to Clayton in 2007, Trey and Mia joined Clayton UMC and they helped start their contemporary service in 2009 while handling the sound and video needs. Trey went on to play the bass guitar in the praise band until he left in 2022 to help form Truth Chapel Ministries. Trey has been a part of our Steering Team from the beginning and has done a great job of leading our Worship team. Trey has a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. He served as a Staff Sargent in the 118th ACS GA Air National Guard for 8 years in Kennesaw, Georgia. He also worked for Easteman Kodak Company for 19.5 years as a Field Engineer and 2nd Level Technical Support for the US and Canada. Trey owns (with his father Dr. Bill Sharpton) and operates Goin Postal in Clayton since 2011. Trey and Mia have one daughter, Juliana Whitmire, son in law Andrew Whitmire and two grandchildren, Violet and Waverly Whitmire.
Hospitality Team
Team Leader: Ms. Jaye Masters
Email: jayemasters@hotmail.com
One of the first Team Leaders we put in place was our Hospitality Team leader, Ms. Jaye Masters. Truth Chapel has a family filled with culinary talent. Much of this talent and the results there-of are available for our enjoyment on Sunday mornings beginning at
8:30 am during our fellowship time.
Churchwide gatherings, potlucks suppers and other opportunities to fellowship almost always come with food. Additionally, in times of grief, sickness or struggle, food delivery can often be a bridge to healing. Jaye's talents in this area are top notch. She was an easy pick and natural leader for these efforts.
Hi! I’m Jaye Masters and I’m the team leader for Hospitality at Truth Chapel Ministries. I’m now a retired teacher who is blessed to be able to pursue my hobbies and interests (which include lots of naps!) while living in Rabun County. I’m a fourth generation native Californian who moved to Georgia in 1981. My late husband, Terry Tuck, and I are the parents of twins, Katie & Thad, and I’m “Mimi” to Cole and Jack-Jack Tuck. I have two Corgi granddogs, Charlie-Bear and Goose, who are extra special. They might also think of me as “Mimi” but I’m not really familiar with Corgi-speak, so I'm not sure.
If you’ve been around me much, you know I love studying the Bible, baking, crafts (especially wet felting), gardening, and reading.
I love Truth Chapel Ministries and the presence of the Holy Spirit when we gather. You will often see me making announcements and asking for help with snacks, greeting, and ushering. If I haven’t met you yet, please introduce yourself if I don’t get to you first. Oh, and be ready to say “Yes!” when I ask for your help in Hospitality.
